The Caribbean Paradise
Roots Foundation
Reggae Music
After Bob Marley (Reggae Music's greatest ambassador) then
Peter Tosh both past away,
there was a gradual decline in the cultural awareness and identity. Even with
the advent of
the recent greats like Morgan Heritage, Luciano, Richie Spice, Jah Cure, Ras Shiloh, Lutan Fyah,
Capleton, Sizzla and
others too numerous to mention who were added to the existing
plethora of Talent, our Sound System and Radio DJs (with the exception of a
few) failed
to meet their responsibilities to the cause and left the listening public to
wander aimlessly
to the point of almost being now lost. This is especially true in the
Baltimore-Washington
and Virginia region where the full gamut of Reggae music has never been
realized.
Fresh Perspective
The time has come to re-kindle the spirit of Reggae Music,
starting first in Baltimore,
MD.
With a vast and varied collection of music dating from 1962 and spanning the
many stages
of change in tempo and style, the Livity International Sound System was created to
fill the
void and provide a venue where we can bring the Family back together and be
entertained together without shame or without having to make any excuses for
the profanity and
vulgarity that is all too common in dancehalls claiming to play Reggae as
entertainment.
Live & Direct
We have also teamed-up with the region’s best Reggae Bands, a
unique collective of the best Local Talent constantly rotating to provide the
best and freshest LIVE music around. So, if
you would like the opportunity to hear the best Reggae ever released and get
to know the complete Reggae music our local DJs don’t play or don’t even
know, join us every Saturday night between 8:00pm and 2:00am.
We provide a respectable venue for young and old alike to
socialize and fellowship while listening to the Music we all grew up with or
wished we grew up with. This is the place to experience the music of Bob
Marley, Burning Spear, Culture, Gladiators, Meditations and
similar styles old and new. Spread the word and join us to re-kindle the fire
with this new
music session on Saturdays, future Live events, after event parties and
concert series!
Yard Style
Finally, you get to eat Yard Style as if you were right there in
Jamaica,
the birth-place
of Reggae even at its earliest forms of Mento, Bluebeat, Ska and Rock Steady
which later
gave way to Roots and Lovers Rock Reggae of the Seventies and Eighties and
the new
Rap/Hip-Hop influenced Dancehall.
Call to Action
Please spread the word and come experience a taste of the Real
and Authentic Caribbean
Paradise. This is
an open invitation to everyone, if you're in town please come and Jam
with us for the night. The Restaurant will be opened, the Bar will be serving
and Music
will be playing. Come on down!

********************* Come and Celebrate! ************************
Our next event is for November 29, 2008 (thanksgiving weekend).
We thought it
would be the perfect way to celebrate the month when we as a people, landed
an
African descendent to the presidency of the single greatest nation in history
according
to bible prophecy (descendents of Manasseh).
Let us celebrate the works of our ancestors that has made all
this possible. Black Uhuru
echoed the words “the
whole world is Africa”, Bob Marley re-iterated “Africa Unite”,
and Martin Luther King’s dream is about to become the reality (our past
heroes did their
part, now it is our turn).
So now, let us truly gather “Rally Round” in thanksgiving and “Praise Jah in Gladness”.
“Let us make a
joyful noise unto the rock of our salvation….” It is a new day indeed,
and a chance to cease the opportunity to help our new “World” president to
usher in
the change required to hopefully bringing about the desired result of Peace, Unity,
Love, and Having Fun!
The time for making excuses is now over. Come join the
celebration, you’ve got to
represent if you believe in the cause. Remember, the window of “earthly”
opportunity
never last forever. The Caribbean Paradise has survived as a struggling
business for
eight years in Baltimore,
and remains committed to the cause to feed the community
and extend our cultural heritage to those who value it.
This event will help to promote the awareness that the Paradise
is here for the
community, it is available for use to promote upcoming events, business
meetings and
all types of celebrations (Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries, Grand Openings
or just
traditional Caribbean style Fine Dining.
